Essential Books for Moving from 10th to 11th Grade: A Complete Guide!

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel, Aditi Talks! This is Aditi, and today I’m going to discuss a super important topic for all those who have completed their 10th grade and are now stepping into 11th grade. I recently went to school to collect my books for the new academic year. And let me tell you, the amount of new things I have to study now is unreal! So, I’m here to give you a quick rundown of the books I’ve received for my Science stream—PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), Computer Science, and Home Science.

Let’s dive right in and see which books are essential for 11th grade.

NCERT Books for 11th Grade

I’ll start with the NCERT textbooks first, then I’ll show you the reference books. Let’s go!

  1. English Literature
    • Hornbill (This is the main textbook for English Core)
    • Snapshots (This is a supplementary book for English Core students. If you’re in the English Elective stream, you’ll get a different set of books!)
  2. Mathematics
    • The NCERT Mathematics textbook is your go-to book for learning the concepts. This will be your base for all the math topics. I’ll be going over the syllabus shortly.
  3. Chemistry
    • The Chemistry book is divided into two parts: Part 1 and Part 2. Both are equally important, and you’ll need to study them in detail.
    • Physics also follows the same pattern with a Part 1 and Part 2 book.

Reference Books for 11th Grade

Now, let’s get into the reference books that I’ve received. These are super helpful to dive deeper into the topics!

  1. Home Science (for Home Science students)
    • The reference book is by Saraswati Publications.
  2. Conceptual Chemistry
    • This is a two-volume set by S. Chand. Volume 1 covers the basics, and Volume 2 gets into more advanced concepts.
  3. Mathematics Reference Book
    • RD Sharma’s Class 11 Mathematics is a must-have! Along with it, there’s an MCQ book that’s perfect for extra practice.
  4. Computer Science
    • For CS, I got the Python Programming book by Dhanpat Rai. This book is crucial if you’re focusing on computer science and Python coding. It also comes with a handbook for practicals.
  5. Laboratory Manuals
    • Chemistry: Chemistry Laboratory Manual
    • Physics: Physics Laboratory Manual
