A tragic fire broke out at a Vishal Mega Mart retail outlet operated by Airplaza Retail Holdings Private Limited, a subsidiary of Vishal Mega Mart, on the evening of Friday, July 4, 2025. The store, located at Padam Singh Road, Block 14, Karol Bagh, was promptly evacuated by staff, who ensured that customers were guided to safety without delay.

The Delhi Fire Department responded to the emergency and successfully brought the blaze under control in the early hours of July 5. However, in a deeply unfortunate development, it was later confirmed that two individuals lost their lives due to the incident. The company has expressed profound sorrow over the loss of life and has extended its condolences to the families of the deceased.

Authorities have since initiated an investigation. An FIR has been filed by Delhi Police, and the matter is currently under active inquiry. The company has stated that it is fully cooperating with the authorities to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a statement, Vishal Mega Mart confirmed that the assets at the affected store are adequately insured, and efforts are underway to initiate relevant insurance claims. The company is also in the process of conducting a detailed assessment of the damage and its potential financial implications.
