Rossari Biotech Q2 FY27 Results: Strong Sales, Modest Profit Gains and Saudi Expansion Plan
Rossari Biotech has reported its financial results for the second quarter of FY27, delivering healthy revenue growth but a comparatively modest improvement in net profit.
The specialty chemicals manufacturer recorded consolidated revenue from operations of ₹697.56 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.
This compares with ₹586.11 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, representing year-on-year growth of approximately 19%.
The increase of more than ₹111 crore in quarterly revenue indicates continued expansion in the company’s business operations.
However, the profit numbers tell a more complicated story than the revenue performance alone. Consolidated profit after tax increased to ₹38.91 crore from ₹36.88 crore in Q2 FY26.
This represents year-on-year profit growth of approximately 5.5%, significantly below the pace of revenue expansion.
The difference between revenue and profit growth is one of the most important aspects of the latest earnings announcement.
It suggests that higher sales did not translate proportionately into bottom-line profitability during the quarter. Total consolidated income stood at approximately ₹698.16 crore, compared with ₹587.71 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Meanwhile, total expenses increased to approximately ₹649.36 crore from ₹538.51 crore. The increase in expenses absorbed a substantial portion of the additional income generated during the quarter.
Consolidated profit before tax was approximately ₹48.80 crore, marginally below the ₹49.20 crore recorded a year earlier.
This indicates that profitability before taxation remained under pressure despite the increase in business volumes.
Basic earnings per share increased to approximately ₹7.02 from ₹6.66 in the corresponding quarter of FY26. The company also reported sequential improvement in profitability compared with the June quarter.
Consolidated net profit increased from approximately ₹35.10 crore in Q1 FY27 to ₹38.91 crore in Q2 FY27. This represents quarter-on-quarter profit growth of approximately 10.9%.
Revenue, however, remained almost unchanged compared with the ₹697.20 crore recorded in the preceding quarter.
The combination of relatively stable sequential revenue and improved profit suggests some recovery in bottom-line performance.
Rossari Biotech operates in the specialty chemicals industry, supplying formulations and chemical solutions to a range of industrial and consumer-facing applications.
Its business includes products serving home and personal care, textile specialty chemicals and other performance-oriented industrial applications.
These markets offer opportunities for growth, but profitability depends on raw material costs, product mix, pricing and manufacturing efficiency.
A business can report higher sales while experiencing weaker profitability if input costs rise or the contribution from higher-margin products declines.
For Rossari, the difference between revenue growth and profit growth makes margin performance an important area to monitor.
Another development is the company’s move toward expanding its manufacturing presence internationally. The board has approved a land-leasing proposal connected with a proposed greenfield manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia.
This development could provide a longer-term opportunity to serve regional customers and diversify the company’s manufacturing footprint.
However, investors will need to monitor the project’s capital requirements, execution schedule and eventual commercial contribution.
The expansion should not be treated as an immediate earnings driver before construction, commissioning and production milestones are achieved.
Within the Indian specialty chemicals sector, companies such as Fine Organic Industries, Galaxy Surfactants and other formulation-focused manufacturers offer useful reference points, although their products and business models differ.
For Rossari, the next few quarters will be important for assessing whether higher revenue can translate into stronger operating margins and faster profit growth.
The company’s October 19 earnings call may provide additional clarity on demand conditions, cost pressures, capacity plans and the outlook for profitability.
Rossari Biotech’s Q2 FY27 results therefore highlight a business generating healthy sales growth while still facing the challenge of converting that growth into proportionately higher earnings.
