Samvardhana Motherson to Invest Up to $7 Million in REE Automotive’s Fresh Funding Round
Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SMIL) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Samvardhana Motherson Automotive Systems Group B.V. (SMRP B.V.), will invest between $5 million to $7 million in REE Automotive Ltd.’s latest funding round.
This investment will allow SMRP B.V. to maintain its existing shareholding percentage in REE Automotive, which currently stands at 18.6% of ordinary share capital (11% on a fully diluted basis). The funding round is aimed at supporting the commercialization of REE Automotive’s order book.
The decision was approved by the Board of Directors of SMIL during their meeting on March 21, 2025, which commenced at 16:30 IST and concluded at 18:00 IST.
This follows SMIL’s previous investment, announced on September 15, 2024, and September 20, 2024, where SMRP B.V. subscribed to 3,639,010 Class A Ordinary shares of REE Automotive Ltd..
With this additional investment, SMIL reaffirms its commitment to the EV and mobility solutions sector, strengthening its partnership with REE Automotive.
