In a strategic move to deepen its retail lending footprint, Poonawalla Fincorp Limited (PFL) has entered the Consumer Durables Loan segment, launching a new business vertical focused on high-frequency, point-of-sale lending. Backed by the Cyrus Poonawalla Group, the NBFC also rolled out a digital EMI card with pre-approved limits, enabling faster and more seamless financing of consumer durable products.

This marks PFL’s sixth business launch and aligns with its strategy to build a scalable and high-yielding retail franchise. The new offering leverages real-time digital onboarding and 5-minute loan sanctioning at dealer locations, simplifying access for both salaried and self-employed customers.

The company plans to institutionalize its acquisition process within the first 90 days, aiming for rapid geographic expansion across 70 locations, including metros and high-potential Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. In phase one, PFL will partner with over 5,000 dealers and leading OEMs, building a robust ecosystem of retailers and regional businesses.

Consumer durable loans offer a strong cross-sell opportunity, acting as a gateway to broader customer relationships for personal loans, insurance, and other financial products. With credit penetration in the consumer durables market currently at 30% and rising, particularly in semi-urban and rural areas, PFL is entering at a time of rising demand and digital transformation in the segment.

To further enhance customer and dealer experience, PFL is also introducing real-time disbursement systems, replacing traditional batch processing to ensure faster settlements.

With this launch, PFL has further solidified its secured lending portfolio, continuing its mission to simplify credit access while prioritizing customer delight and digital excellence.
