Thomas Cook India & SOTC Travel Partner with Tourism New Zealand to Boost Winter Tourism

Thomas Cook (India) Limited and its group company SOTC Travel have signed a strategic joint venture (JV) agreement with Tourism New Zealand to promote travel to New Zealand during its winter season (June–August).

The agreement was signed by Gregg Wafelbakker, General Manager Asia, Tourism New Zealand, Rajeev Kale, President & Country Head, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, and S.D. Nandakumar, President & Country Head – Holidays & Corporate Tours, SOTC Travel.

Aiming for Off-Peak Travel Growth

With New Zealand’s winter coinciding with India’s peak vacation period, the initiative highlights off-season travel benefits, including better pricing, fewer crowds, and sustainable tourism. The collaboration will focus on product development and strategic marketing, leveraging Thomas Cook and SOTC Travel’s expertise and extensive customer base across metros, mini-metros, and Tier 2 & 3 markets.

New Zealand in winter transforms into a breathtaking wonderland, offering:
Adventure sports – Skiing, snowboarding, heli-hiking, and trekking
Nature & wildlife – Whale-watching, stargazing, aurora chasing at Dark Sky Reserve
Thrill-seeking activities – Skydiving, bungee jumping, the world’s largest human catapult in Queenstown
