Unicommerce Q2 FY27 Results: ₹104 Crore Cash Balance, Strong Cash Flow and a New AI Growth Strategy!

Unicommerce eSolutions has delivered another quarter of double-digit revenue growth, but the biggest development may not be its financial numbers. The company has launched DNA, a second-generation AI companion, while its Shipway business has crossed a ₹100 crore annualised revenue run rate.

The combination of AI-led product innovation, enterprise customer additions and cross-selling opportunities could shape the company’s next phase of growth.

However, investors must also examine whether these investments can translate into stronger profitability, particularly after management indicated that incremental spending should moderate during the second half of FY27.

Unicommerce announced its audited Q2 FY27 results on October 23, 2026, reporting consolidated revenue of ₹59.1 crore for the quarter ended September 30.

Revenue increased 15% year-on-year from ₹51.4 crore in Q2 FY26, supported by continued growth across its Uniware and Shipway businesses. Profit after tax increased 10.6% to ₹6.4 crore from ₹5.8 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Although both revenue and profit increased, profit growth remained below revenue growth, reflecting the impact of ongoing investments in product development, talent, sales and marketing. Adjusted EBITDA stood at ₹10 crore, representing an adjusted EBITDA margin of 17%.

Management indicated that the profitability profile reflects planned investments intended to strengthen the company’s longer-term growth capabilities.

For the first half of FY27, consolidated revenue increased 14.7% to ₹110.4 crore from ₹96.3 crore a year earlier. H1 FY27 profit after tax rose 14.4% to ₹11.1 crore, compared with ₹9.7 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Adjusted EBITDA for the first half stood at ₹18.1 crore, translating into an adjusted EBITDA margin of 16.4%. An important financial highlight was the company’s operating cash flow of ₹23.9 crore during H1 FY27.

Unicommerce also reported a cash balance of ₹104.4 crore as of September 30, 2026. This provides financial flexibility to fund product development and business expansion without necessarily relying entirely on external capital.

However, operating cash flow should not be confused with free cash flow, and the company’s future cash generation will depend on working-capital movements and investment requirements.

The company’s growth strategy is built around three priorities: acquiring new customers, expanding relationships with existing clients and introducing AI-led product innovations.

Uniware, the company’s e-commerce operations platform, reported 14.5% year-on-year revenue growth during Q2 FY27. Management highlighted that this marked the fifth consecutive quarter of accelerating growth for the business.

Uniware’s performance was supported by enterprise customer acquisition and increased adoption of additional platform modules. The company added 121 enterprise clients during the quarter, representing 17.5% year-on-year growth in enterprise additions.

New customer wins included United Colors of Benetton, Macho, Furlenco, Pushp Masale, JK Maini by Raymond and Nish Hair. These additions demonstrate continued adoption across different consumer and retail categories.

However, the announcement does not disclose the contract value or expected revenue contribution of individual customer wins. Shipway, Unicommerce’s logistics technology business, reported 15.7% year-on-year revenue growth.

The business also crossed ₹100 crore in annualised revenue run rate, representing an important operating milestone.

An annualised run rate reflects revenue at a particular operating pace and should not be confused with actual revenue already earned over a completed financial year.

Another interesting detail is that approximately 20–25% of Shipway’s volumes currently originate from Uniware clients.

This creates a potential cross-selling opportunity because Unicommerce can introduce logistics-related services to more customers already using its core platform.

If the company increases adoption across its existing customer base, it may be able to generate additional revenue without depending exclusively on new customer acquisition.

However, the financial benefit will depend on customer conversion, pricing, retention and the cost of delivering these services. The launch of DNA represents another major development in Unicommerce’s strategy.

DNA is Uniware’s second-generation AI companion, designed to identify operational signals and anomalies, support faster decision-making and enable automated corrective actions.

Management described the launch as part of the company’s transition from a system of record towards a system of action. This distinction is important because traditional enterprise software primarily helps businesses record and manage information.

AI-enabled systems increasingly aim to interpret that information and support operational responses. For e-commerce businesses, such capabilities could potentially improve the handling of inventory discrepancies, fulfilment problems and other operational exceptions.

However, Unicommerce has not disclosed specific revenue targets, customer adoption figures or profitability contributions associated with DNA.

The commercial success of the new AI companion will therefore depend on how widely customers adopt its capabilities and whether it delivers measurable operational benefits. The company’s newer Uniware offerings are also gaining traction.

UniReco and UniCapture were used by more than 150 clients during Q2 FY27. Together, these products achieved an annualised revenue run rate exceeding ₹3 crore and contributed approximately 2.5% of Uniware revenue.

Management expects newer offerings to contribute up to 10% of Uniware revenue over the next two to three years. This is a forward-looking expectation rather than a guaranteed financial outcome.

If achieved, it would indicate that Unicommerce is successfully expanding revenue opportunities within its existing technology platform. International expansion provides another potential growth driver.

The international business now contributes approximately 6% of Uniware revenue, compared with around 3% when Unicommerce listed in August 2024.

Management stated that international operations continue to grow faster than the domestic business while remaining profitable. Although the international contribution is still relatively small, its increasing share could gradually diversify the company’s revenue base.

The company is also investing in sales and marketing capabilities to improve customer acquisition, cross-selling and adoption of newer modules.

These investments have weighed on near-term adjusted EBITDA margins, but management expects the pace of incremental spending to moderate in H2 FY27.

Chief Executive Officer Kapil Makhija indicated that the company anticipates improving profitability and operating leverage as these investments begin contributing to growth.

Management also reiterated its confidence in achieving revenue growth of more than 15% in Uniware and more than 20% in Shipway from Q4 FY27 onwards. These targets suggest an expectation of stronger growth momentum, particularly in the logistics technology business.

However, investors should distinguish management guidance from actual results and monitor whether future quarterly performance supports these expectations.

Unicommerce operates in a competitive e-commerce technology market where customer retention, product reliability and platform innovation are important determinants of long-term performance.

Its opportunities are linked to growing digital commerce adoption, increasing complexity in order fulfilment and demand for integrated technology solutions.

The company could benefit from deeper adoption of its products among existing customers, but competition and pricing pressure remain potential risks.

AI product development also involves ongoing technology investment, and commercial returns may take time to materialise. For investors, the next quarterly results will be particularly important for assessing whether profitability improves as management expects.

Key indicators include Uniware and Shipway revenue growth, adjusted EBITDA margins, enterprise customer additions, cash generation and adoption of newer AI-enabled products.

The company’s ₹104.4 crore cash balance provides financial flexibility, but sustained shareholder value creation will ultimately depend on profitable revenue growth and efficient capital allocation.

Unicommerce’s Q2 FY27 results show a business expanding steadily while investing in new capabilities. The larger opportunity lies in whether DNA, cross-selling and international expansion can accelerate growth without placing continued pressure on operating margins.

The next phase of the company’s performance will be measured not only by how many customers it adds, but also by how effectively it converts its expanding technology platform into recurring revenue, stronger margins and sustainable cash flow.
