Sky Gold Q2 FY27 Results: Revenue Crosses ₹2,390 Crore as Profit Nearly Doubles

Sky Gold and Diamonds delivered a strong set of numbers for the September 2026 quarter, reporting a sharp increase in revenue and profitability. The jewellery manufacturer posted consolidated revenue of ₹2,390.66 crore, while net profit attributable to shareholders climbed nearly 91% to ₹127.87 crore.

The results were impressive, but the company’s announcement of a proposed ₹1,800 crore fundraise added another dimension to the story. With earnings growing rapidly and operating margins improving, investors now have to assess how Sky Gold plans to finance its next phase of expansion.

Revenue increased 61% from ₹1,484.46 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. This represents an additional ₹906 crore in quarterly sales, demonstrating the scale at which the company’s business has expanded over twelve months.

The profit performance was even stronger than the revenue growth. Consolidated profit attributable to shareholders rose from ₹66.99 crore to ₹127.87 crore, reflecting improved operating profitability alongside the expansion in business volumes.

Sky Gold also exceeded the reported market profit estimate of approximately ₹114 crore. The actual attributable profit was around 12% higher than that expectation, making the earnings performance stronger than anticipated.

The sequential comparison provides another encouraging signal. Revenue increased approximately 18.8% from ₹2,012.79 crore in the June quarter, indicating that the company continued expanding after an already strong beginning to FY27.

Profit attributable to shareholders also improved sequentially, rising from ₹103.28 crore to ₹127.87 crore. The increase of nearly 24% suggests that the improvement was not limited to comparisons against a relatively smaller year-ago base.

Sky Gold operates primarily as a business-to-business jewellery manufacturer, supplying products to organised jewellery retailers. Unlike consumer-facing jewellery chains, its performance depends heavily on manufacturing capacity, customer orders, product mix and efficient working-capital management.

The company’s growth has been supported by its presence in lightweight and value-added jewellery manufacturing. These product categories allow retailers to offer a wider range of designs while responding to customers’ changing preferences and purchasing requirements.

However, the financial results alone do not establish exactly how much of the latest revenue increase came from higher volumes, changes in gold prices or an improved product mix. That distinction will be important when evaluating the sustainability of growth.

One of the most encouraging aspects of the quarter was the improvement in operating profitability. Derived consolidated EBITDA increased to approximately ₹189.77 crore, compared with ₹99.90 crore in the same period last year.

This represents operating profit growth of nearly 90%, substantially faster than the 61% increase in revenue. The difference indicates that Sky Gold retained more operating earnings from each rupee of sales than it did a year earlier.

The EBITDA margin improved from approximately 6.73% to 7.94%, an expansion of about 121 basis points. For a jewellery manufacturing business operating with substantial raw-material costs, this improvement is particularly meaningful.

The sequential margin performance was also positive, although less dramatic. EBITDA margin increased from approximately 7.79% in the June quarter to 7.94% in September, suggesting that profitability remained relatively stable while revenue expanded.

The improvement in margins deserves attention because gold jewellery manufacturing is sensitive to fluctuations in precious-metal prices. Higher revenue does not automatically translate into better profitability when raw-material costs, inventory requirements and financing expenses are substantial.

Sky Gold’s latest numbers suggest better operating economics, but investors should examine whether the improvement reflects a lasting change in product mix and manufacturing efficiency. Temporary inventory effects or favourable pricing conditions can also influence margins in this industry.

The company’s consolidated profit before tax increased to approximately ₹166.03 crore from ₹87.90 crore a year earlier. The quarter also included an exceptional expense of around ₹7.35 crore, which reduced reported profit.

Total consolidated profit after tax reached approximately ₹129.35 crore, compared with ₹66.99 crore last year. The commonly quoted 91% profit growth refers to the ₹127.87 crore attributable to the company’s shareholders, rather than total consolidated profit after tax.

Earnings per share increased from ₹4.38 to ₹8.26, reflecting the improvement in attributable profitability. This matters because earnings per share helps investors assess profit growth relative to the company’s equity base.

Alongside these results, Sky Gold’s board approved a proposal to raise up to ₹1,800 crore through qualified institutional placements or other permissible equity fundraising methods. The proposal is subject to shareholder and other necessary approvals.

The size of the proposed fundraise is significant relative to the company’s quarterly profit. It suggests that management is considering substantial capital requirements as Sky Gold continues developing its manufacturing and business operations.

A qualified institutional placement allows a listed company to raise equity capital from eligible institutional investors. Such funding can strengthen the balance sheet and support expansion without necessarily adding conventional borrowing.

However, issuing additional shares can dilute existing shareholders ownership and earnings per share. The eventual impact will depend on the issue price, number of shares issued and returns generated from deploying the proceeds.

The company has scheduled an extraordinary general meeting for November 18, 2026, to seek shareholder approval for the fundraising proposal. The actual amount raised, pricing and timing remain subject to subsequent decisions and approvals.

Another development involves Sky Gold’s acquisition activity, including its reported acquisition of Purvi Gems & Jewellery (India).

Expanding through acquisitions can increase manufacturing capabilities and customer reach, although integration and capital allocation become important considerations.

The acquisition strategy makes the company’s financial performance more interesting because rapid expansion can involve both organic growth and contributions from acquired businesses. Investors should distinguish between these sources when assessing the underlying growth rate.

Sky Gold operates in an industry where organised players such as Titan, Kalyan Jewellers and Senco Gold influence retail demand and competitive trends. However, these businesses have different operating models, so direct comparisons of their margins or valuations require care.

Sky Gold’s manufacturing-focused model can benefit from increasing outsourcing by jewellery retailers, but it also faces competition from other manufacturers. Consistent product quality, delivery schedules, customer relationships and cost efficiency are essential for maintaining its position.

Working capital remains one of the most important areas to monitor. Rapidly growing jewellery manufacturers often need substantial funding for gold inventory and customer receivables, meaning accounting profits may not immediately translate into equivalent operating cash flow.

The proposed fundraising makes cash generation and balance-sheet efficiency particularly relevant. Investors will want to understand how much additional capital is required to support sales growth and whether the company can improve inventory turnover as operations expand.

Valuation is another consideration following such strong earnings growth. A business delivering nearly 91% attributable profit growth may attract investor interest, but its share price must still be evaluated against future earnings, capital requirements and execution risks.

The September quarter has demonstrated that Sky Gold can expand revenue while improving operating margins. Maintaining that combination will become increasingly important as the company grows larger and comparisons with previous periods become more demanding.

The coming quarters will reveal whether Sky Gold can sustain its operating momentum while managing gold-price volatility, financing costs and expansion spending. Updates on the proposed ₹1,800 crore fundraise, acquisition integration and cash flow will be particularly important.

Sky Gold’s Q2 FY27 results show a company growing rapidly and generating stronger profits from its expanding business. The next stage of its investment story will depend on how effectively that growth translates into sustainable cash generation and returns for shareholders.
